FHA Requirements for Builders

If a buyer of a new home chooses an FHA-insured mortgage, the builder will need to submit documents to the lender processing the mortgage and/or to the FHA appraiser.
Single-Family & Town Homes Under Construction or Newly Constructed Homes (90% Complete up to 1-Year Old)
If the home is proposed or under construction (defined as 90% or less complete), the following will need to be submitted to the FHA appraiser:
- Plans and specifications only for homes under construction.
- Form HUD-92541, Builder's Certification of Plans, Specifications, & Site.
Form HUD-92005, Description of Materials.
Form HUD-92544, Warranty of Completion of Construction (when construction is complete).
Read Mortgagee ML 2001-27 to find out how to eliminate the need for a 10-year warranty.
